Arrays/clusters can't be displayed in svd window

Example SVD
^Just search for [%s] in the linked SVD

The treeview in this example for 8 elements can't be enlarged. Only the first element of the "cluster" is shown.

Workaround would be to enlarge it manually, by copy and paste it 8 times in the svd and replace the [%s] by an index of 0..7 and adapt the offset for every entry.

Union is displayed wrong in the watch window [solved]

SVD file crash on empty content [solved]

Empty description elements in an SVD file appear to crash EmBitz. (EmBitz 2.50 on Windows 11)

The below small SVD file will crash Embitz when I run "Start/Stop Debug Session". If I add some text to the description element, it does not crash.

EmBitz 2.50 crashes on specific code [solved]

Hi,

I have this code that crashes EmBitz. This is the minimal code that producing the crash.
When the program reaching the '=' character, EmBitz becomes unresponsive, greyed out, and the only thing I can do is closing the application.
The wierd thing is, if I change the '=' character to anything else, the crash doens't happen.

The crash doens't happen on another IDE.

Hi,
When i click flash target button, i get the "Target power perhaps" error. Please see the attached image files and give advises. By the way i was using V1.11 and it was very easy to debug , but with V2.41 i can not debug any project, maybe i don't know how to do it. Please give advises.

Using external gdb server [not a bug]

Hi,

Thanks for your awesome creation!

It seems that there is a problem parsing the reg keys when using external gdb server.
For example when using JLink with the following key %Software\SEGGER\J-Link:InstallPath% the server fails to start.
Windows version: 10.0.19044.1826
EmBitz version 2.41

STM32F303VC project via wizard

I just did a simple project for STM32F303VC through the wizard. The amount of RAM is incorrectly set to 48K, but must be 40K. The total SRAM memory is 48KB, but this includes 8KB CCMRAM.
EmBitz version 2.41.

EmBitz 2.41 cannot close program

Since EmBitz version 2.41 sometimes I cannot close the program window.

This can be recognized by the fact that the context menu of the project in the sub-window "Management" has some grayed-out items. A consequence of this when I want to exit the application only an information/warning sound is played and there is no chance to close the window (it can be only closed when killing its process by the task manager).

It seems to be that this issue occurs when I have changed/added new files to the project.

Can it be possible that this issue has something to do that I have its own .ebp file as a project file?

How to report bugs

Bug reports are welcome if:

- They are about the current downloadable version.
- Info is added about used OS (version and patch level).
- They are companient with a small project in .zip format revealing the bug.

If the bug is not project related then the project file is not necessary but a clear step-by-step description how to reproduce the bug.

Always check if the latest version is used and if the bug still exists in the current version.
Bug reports about earlier or foreign versions are removed.

There is a 2.11 version on the internet which is not a real EmBitz 2.x version but a 1.11 version with updated wizards and is not supported here.

Compiler flag mismatch between project and target level [solved]

Hi,

Thank you for this incredible work and for the new release! I'm using EmBitz for 7 years now.

I'm switching a project form 1.11 to 2.00 (start new project, add files, adjust settings) and I've found something.

The default optimisation C compiler flags for a new project (STM32H743): Debug: -O0; Release: -O2
When I set the -O0 at the project settings level (without touching anything else) it seems that the release target using the project settings from now on (policy: append), but to my surprise the compiled output is much smaller than the debug target.
It turned out that in the projects .ebp file the setting is still -O2.
